KROÚ is a young brand of women's clothing made of organic silk shantung. The main principles of our team are aesthetics and comfort. We are inspired by ancient traditions, we work out the details of the products ourselves and monitor the quality of tailoring. Shantung silk for our clothes is made and dyed by hand at a small family production in Sri Lanka. Weightless and hypoallergenic, it gives the body the necessary coolness or warmth and has all the properties that natural silk is valued for. Shantung holds its shape well and creates an architectural silhouette on the figure. It is easy to recognize it by the matte gloss and distinctive uneven texture with numerous dense nodules. Among natural silks, it is famous for its strength and durability. However, this natural delicate fabric requires proper care, it does not tolerate high temperature, moisture and burns out under sunlight.

To make the material, raw cocoons are soaked, dried and combed, after which texture threads are twisted from the raw materials. Twisting of threads is a manual, not a machine process, therefore, in some areas their thickness differs and when examined in detail on the surface of the canvas, local differences in the density of the material can be noticed. Since the fabric is made on hand looms, small inclusions of traces of silk of a different color are possible. These properties do not relate to defects and are considered a feature of the hand type of production of such silk all over the world.

The amount of fabric with this method of manufacture is limited, this type of silk is considered as rare, so products are produced in small batches, the texture and color of each of them are unique.
